Grand Rapids, Michigan - February 13, 2006 - United States Attorney Margaret M. Chiara and FBI Special Agent in Charge of the Detroit Division Daniel D. Roberts announced that on February 10, 2006, Daniel L. Dropik, 22, of Sullivan, Wisconsin was sentenced to 63 months in federal prison after having pled guilty to the attempted destruction of religious property for having set fire to two churches: the Greater Love Missionary Baptist Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on April 16, 2005, and the Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lansing, Michigan on April 17, 2005. The sentence was imposed in Milwaukee by United States District Judge Rudolph Randa, who also ordered Dropik to serve three years of supervised release upon his release from prison and to pay a total of $39,697.18 in restitution to the two churches.
