Marquette, Michigan - June 6, 2006 - United States Attorney Margaret M. Chiara announced that on June 5, 2006, RaeAnne Lynn Gauthier, age 26, of L'Anse, Michigan, was sentenced by Senior United States District Court Judge R. Allan Edgar to 71 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and a special assessment of $100.00. On January 30, 2006, Ms. Gauthier pleaded guilty to Count 2 of an Indictment charging her with retaliating against a witness or victim in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1513(b)(2). Ms. Chiara expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, officers of the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community Tribal Police and deputies of the Baraga County Sheriff's Office. Assistant United States Attorney Paul D. Lochner prosecuted this case on behalf of the United States.
