Marquette, Michigan - June 6, 2006 - United States Attorney Margaret M. Chiara announced that on June 5, 2006, Donald Wayne Alexander, age 19, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, was sentenced by Senior United States District Court Judge R. Allan Edgar to 42 months in prison, three years of supervised release, and a special assessment of $100.00.

On January 31, 2006, Mr. Alexander pleaded guilty to an Indictment charging him with sexual abuse of a minor, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 2243(a).

Ms. Chiara expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and officers of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribal Police. Assistant United States Attorney Paul D. Lochner prosecuted this case on behalf of the United States.
