Marquette, Michigan – December 19, 2006 – United States Attorney Margaret M. Chiara announced that on December 18, 2006, Heath Eugene Condon, age 27, of Iron River, Michigan, was sentenced by Senior United States District Court Judge R. Allan Edgar, to 108 months’ confinement, five years of supervised release, and a special assessment of $100.00. On August 31, 2006, Mr. Condon pleaded guilty to Count One of an Indictment charging him with transporting or shipping child pornography in interstate commerce in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 2252(a)(1) and (b)(1). The Indictment alleged that Mr. Condon possessed child pornography on a computer and that on May 13, 2005, he used a computer to send child pornography via the internet from Michigan to Utah. Ms. Chiara expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant United States Attorneys Paul D. Lochner, Leslie A. Hagen, and Richard Murray prosecuted this case on behalf of the United States.
