ARREST OF AK-47 BANK ROBBERY SUSPECTS

Andrew G. Arena, Special Agent in Charge (SAC), Federal Bureau of Investigation, (FBI), Detroit, Michigan, announces Federal arrest warrants have been obtained for all of the individuals believed to be involved in the AK-47 bank robberies. Federal warrants have been obtained for five (5) individuals who are all charged with violation of Title 18, USC, Section 2113(a) taking money or property exceeding $1,000.00 belonging to a bank, credit union, or savings and loan association and for violation of Title 18, USC, Section 924(c) for knowingly possessing firearms and ammunition.

Warrants have been obtained for:

  1. Andre Jones - a Detroit resident who is currently in protective custody at a local area hospital and was involved in a shooting with Detroit Police officers earlier this week.
  2. Sparkle Eldridge - a Detroit resident.
  3. Jawan Martin - age 27 and a Detroit resident. Martin was arrested during the early morning hours of Friday, December 14, 2007, without incident, by Special Agents of the Detroit FBI, at a residence in the 1100 block of Burlingame, Detroit, Michigan.
  4. Terez Deon Rivers - age 31, a Detroit resident, who was arrested during the early morning hours of Friday, December 14, 2007, by the FBI. Rivers was arrested, without incident, at a residence in the 1100 block of Burlingame, Detroit, Michigan
  5. Frederick Samuel Humes, Jr. - age 29, a Detroit resident, was also arrested at the Burlingame residence during the early morning hours of Friday, December 14, 2007. Humes was initially taken into custody on a local outstanding narcotics warrant.

It is anticipated Jawan Martin and Terez Deon Rivers will be arraigned this afternoon in the Federal court in the Eastern District of Michigan, Detroit, Michigan.
