OKLAHOMA CITY, OKLAHOMA – Michael B. Ward, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Oklahoma, announced the FBI is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Michael Cornelius Burke, 41, who is wanted for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution related to sexually assaulting two young girls in Pennsylvania.
On November 19, 2004, the Abington (Pennsylvania) Police Department arrested Michael Cornelius Burke for the rape and statutory sexual assault of two females, ages 10 and 13. On April 6, 2006, Burke pled guilty to one count of rape and one count of aggravated indecent assault in front of Judge William T. Nicholas, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. On May 22, 2007, Burke failed to appear for his sentencing hearing. A bench warrant was issued for his arrest. On July 2, 2007, a Federal warrant was issued out of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for Burke for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution, a violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 1073.
The investigation has revealed that Burke is likely in Oklahoma. He has relatives in Bethany, Oklahoma. Burke is possibly employed at an unknown RV park as a handyman. Burke also has skills as a plumber.
Burke is described as a white male, 6’1”, 255 lbs., 41 years old, bald, with blue eyes.
